1. BEYOND PANCAKES – for the sweet tooth couple

As the name suggests, this place is so much more than their popular pancakes. Specially feast on European-inspired food such as their signature Pannenkoek dishes (Dutch-style pancakes). Who says you need to travel to Europe for a romantic date? 😂 End your meal off by having stacks of their freshly flipped dessert pancakes topped with a wide variety of yummy add-ons to choose from. Trust me, you can’t finish that on your own so it’s perfect for sharing!

That said, because this is a pancake place afterall, the best thing you can order off their menu will be the dessert pancakes, so don’t leave without trying those. Special mention has got to be the chocolate cheese pannenkoek rolls!

2. NOOSH noodle bar & grill – for the couple that can’t agree

If you wish to bring your special someone out to celebrate a special occasion or just dine somewhere that is not the usual go-to, I’d recommend Noosh for a fancier-dining experience at the Esplanade. Their food is slightly pricier than the average, but I’d say it’s worth it for the option to pick from a wide range of cuisines and fusion food. Complement your food with a side of their zesty Mocktails or ever-popular signature drink, Butter Beer.

Noosh has the widest range of food in the menu. You can find Japanese food, Cantoniese Food, Pastas and even our signature local favourites. So if you’re that couple that can’t agree on eating the same thing, this place would be perfect for you both.

I’d recommend Sedap Thai in this list as it offers a more affordable menu if you are looking for that (because tight budget) and an experience of sharing for two. Although it is at a rather unusual setting for a date, but hey if you and your companion are not fussy then I’d say why not? 😂

Quality time that you both spend together is most important, everyone! Also, you can always add on more munchies (or even platter HAHA) if you both have more space in your stomach for it!

Here’s another place for you to spice up your date with some fusion food. Penny University offers an absolutely lovely ambience with their menu of unique, peculiar food and amazing coffee. I’d recommend coming here for a nice brunch, topped with their delightful cakes, to start the day right before you head on to your next activity planned for the day!

If you remember their sister brand – Brothers in Fine Food – you’ll remember their value for money high quality (very refined) food. This menu can be found at Penny University for their dinner service. Just look at the food, doesn’t that just look like a romantic treat?

If you and/or your date are keen on eating healthy and not want to cheat when when dating, you gotta give LIMAA a try! LIMAA offers some of the most colourful dishes I have seen, with fresh, clean food that are both tasty AND good for your body. Choose from a menu of breakfast meals, vegetarian options, healthy bowls, Western dishes, LIMAA’s Heartiest meals, and fresh fruit juices and smoothies!

My personal recommendation? The Acai Berry Bowl, and the Rosti (with s side of mushrooms). It’s full hearty meals for the both of you at Limaa!
