Since everyone is fasting, the feeling of hunger makes them more conscious of being good and doing good compared to other days but some times, we just can’t help it can we! This is the month where more good happens because everyone is increasing their acts of worship, so we’re here to share you some situations to overcome those moments where you lose your cool.

This post is brought to you by Three Legs Cooling Water, which reduces the effects of heatiness. Besides the plain flavour, it now comes in three flavours- lime, guava, and lychee and the taste has been approved by the Halal Food Hunt team!

1. When you sit with your mum to plan the Ramadan menu because you both have different tastes

Somewhere at the tenth discussion (and we are quite sure it’s going to take A LOT of discussions), both of you might need a break. Try to compromise, maybe one day you plan the menu or a place to break fast, another it’s her choice! Take turns and everyone gets to be happy! When you get angry, it’s better to keep quiet then let your temper take over. Remember our Prophet advised repeatedly on not getting angry! On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him):

“A man said to the Prophet, ‘Give me advice.’ The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, ‘Do not get angry.’ The man asked repeatedly and the Prophet answered each time, ‘Do not get angry.’”

2. When your colleagues ask you the usual questions about Ramadan 101 again.

“Why you must fast? How long must you fast? Can you swallow your saliva? Can you drink water? How many days ah?”

Friend, friend friend, it’s not like I don’t want to explain to you again why we fast but we do this every year friend, you should remember it by now. Ok lah, ok lah. Go ahead and ask me again.

Remember that it is always a good thing when anyone asks you about the things you do as a Muslim. It is an opportunity to help them understand Islam, and understand you as a Muslim. It’s always better that it comes from you instead of the internet! Show them that this is a time of patience, giving and kindness for Muslims. Today, more than ever before we need a chance to connect and understand each other to build a stronger society.

“And by the Mercy of Allaah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their faults), and ask (Allaah’s) forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affairs”

[Quran, Chapter ‘Imraan 3:159]

3. When you wake up super early for pre-dawn meal after sleeping late, and your body’s just adjusting to it.

You know what’s great for when you’re adjusting to this new sleep and wake-up schedule? Three Legs Cooling water. It helps you to feel tons better when you’re adjusting to a new sleep schedule. Especially when you’ve just woken up and your throat is parched and your eyes crumbed with sleep.

4. When you see the super long queue for food at all the Ramadan bazaars stalls.

Get in line and make sure you’ve got your bottle of Cooling Water packed in your bag as you brave the queues.

5.When you eat something too spicy for your break fast.

Three Legs Cooling Water can also relieve body heatiness caused by eating spicy and pungent food? It’s always handy to reach out for this drink when you know you’re going to eat something which is bound to make you cry!

6. When someone gives you a super lame pun about dates again, as in the fruit.

Or any Ramadan-related date pun again, for that matter. Please stop. We already covered that last year and the year before. It’s not funny anymore!

Let’s share good things about Ramadan too shall we? Or good initiatives that we can do this month.

7. When you’re walking through the bazaar just before break fast time and it’s just super stuffy.

Please just pour water over my hijab, please, because I can’t drink.

Ok, we don’t recommend pouring a bottle of Cooling Water for the cooling effect. You actually have to drink it to feel cooler. While fasting, what you can do is take wudhu (ablutions before prayers where you wash your body parts from head to toe) instead! Actually even when it’s not Ramadan, taking wudhu is good to keep you cool even when you’re not going to pray yet.

But when it’s time to break fast already, relieve all that body heat from walking around the stuffy and packed bazaars by getting Three Legs Cooling Water. Besides the plain one, it comes in three flavours- lychee, guava and lime. So you can grab it when you’re feeling hot and have it to break your fast to reduce the heatiness you feel in your body from all those kilometers you covered at the Geylang bazaar!

8. When you get pissed off through the day because of your hangriness.

And all you can do is just glare at everyone and everything because you’re supposed to be managing your anger and not losing your cool during the fasting month.

Just hold it in a bit longer and be patient guys! Remember, the quality of your fast depends on your level of patience too! A few more hours and dissipate all that angst with a sip of Cooling Water.
