From 4 – 5 February 2019, Halal-Certified Thai restaurant Blue Jasmine presents their version of a Chinese New Year feast. Prepare for an evening filled with good company and heartwarming, familial food with an exclusive buffet line featuring classic Chinese dishes done with a twist of Thai as well as dishes traditionally eaten during the festive season.

Rise to the joyous occasion as you toss the Thai Chin Yu Sheng. Rich with shredded green papaya, mango, pomelo, and 6 types of pickles, the dish is topped with salmon gravlax and the all-time kid’s favourite of crispy crackers. It is all then drizzled with a house made Plum & Passionfruit Sauce.

Warm the stomach with a light and nourishing Fish Maw Soup brimming with fresh crabmeat and crisp bamboo shoots before sinking your teeth into the addictive Deep-Fried Shrimp Paste Chicken or the Sugarcane Prawn.

An omen of wealth and fortune, mandarin oranges are used to elevate the classic Thai Roast Duck Salad with an extra citrus kick. Spice lovers can look forward to the Spicy Sea Jelly Salad with Baby Octopus where a touch of heat bring a sea of textures and flavours together.

As a signifier of longevity and prosperity, ee fu noodles are a must have during Lunar New Year, and Blue Jasmine’s Braised Ee Fu Noodle served with chicken, mushroom and yellow chives is a show-stopper with its pronounced flavours and varied textures. Filled with smoky and savoury aromas and flavours, the Claypot Rice with Chinese Sausage and Chicken would also be hard to resist.

Lovers of Chinese classics will enjoy the Braised Duck, paired with egg and beancurd, the fresh and sweet Steamed Sea Bass served with ginger sauce for a piquant kick, and the indulgent Crispy Cereal Butter Prawn, reminiscent of a sea of gold.

Complement these with the robustly flavoured Braised ‘Luo Han’ Vegetables before heading to the live station serving Wat Tan Hor Fun, where wok-fried rice noodles are doused in silky smoky gravy full of with runny egg threads.

An array of freshly made desserts await at the end of the buffet line to give the perfect ending to your meal. Start with Deep-Fried ‘Nian Gao’ and get a head start of good luck and sweet beginnings for the coming year or snag a couple of Assorted Chinese New Year Cookies before moving on to the rich and creamy Thai Chendol, served with pandan jelly noodles, jackfruit and house-made red ruby jewels.

Wash it all down with a cooling and revitalizing Lemongrass drink, or Blue Jasmine’s signature Thai Milk Tea, served hot.
